We will be doing everything we can in order to protect our clients and staff once we are open.
This might feel over the top for many but still not enough for others.
Please feel free to contact us about any concerns you may have.
We have drafted together a procedure following a risk assessment. Let us know if there is anything you feel we have missed.
These measures are the following:
The handover protocol
We are moving our reception to outside the front door so there is no need to enter the building.
If there is another client dropping off or collecting their pet or in the “reception area”, please wait in your car or in the car park ensuring there is enough space to maintain safe distance. If you prefer we can collect your pet directly from your car and conduct our check-in procedure from a safe distance to you through your car window.
We have installed a ring with a lead already attached to it outside the reception area. You can attach your dog to this lead if you prefer not to leave your own lead. Otherwise your lead will be sprayed with a pet safe sanitiser solution.
Carry boxes will be sprayed with a pet safe sanitiser solution
before being stored in a separate area until you collect your pet or we can return your carrier to you.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN BEDDING. WE CAN ACCOMODATE EVERY PETS TASTE AND YOUR PREFERENCE OF THE TYPE OF BED THAT THEY ARE USED TO USING. IN THIS WAY WE CAN SAFELY SANTISE ALL BEDDING AFTER EXIT.
HAND SANITISER IS AVAILABLE IN THE ‘RECEPTION’ AREA.
Any pet being admitted from a household that is self-isolating because of Covid-19 symptoms or suspected symptoms will be isolated for 72 hours.
Our booking forms are now available to complete on line. Please do so, if possible one week before your booking commencement date. It will also be helpful if you can email or telephone us prior to your arrival to discuss any new regimes, behaviour or if anything regarding your pets welfare has changed. Ie. New food diet or administration of medications etc. In this way we can reduce the time spent during pet handover to reduce the risk of spending too much time in the waiting area.
We have always and will continue to use specialised Pet kennel / cattery cleaner & disinfectant for all surfaces and all bedding is washed and dried before reuse.
I’m sure these measures will become automatic and quicker after a while as it has to be the new normal for a while.
As often happens, once a new procedure is in use we may find that the above measures may need tweaking. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further concerns, comments or suggestions.
Hope everyone will find this sufficient.
